Scalp Micropigmentation is a cosmetic treatment for thinning hair or hair loss. It's sometimes also called a hair tattoo. A thin, small needle is used to deposit tiny dots of pigment (color) on the scalp. These dots give the appearance of thicker hair, and looks like a natural hair follicle to blend in seamlessly with your complexion.

Is this procedure a Tattoo?

No. SMP uses a specific type of equipment and ink. Scalp micro-pigmentation also doesn't go as far into the skin as a regular tattoo and the SMP pigment expands differently in the skin.

Scalp micropigmentation uses pointillism or a dotting technique, where traditional tattoos is more of a scraping method.

Who can get this procedure?

This process may be useful for people who experience all forms of hair loss. This includes people with:

  • cancer

  • alopecia

  • thinning hair

  • male and female pattern baldness

How long does it last? Is it Permanent?

Micropigmentation is considered semipermanent. While the effects may last up to 8 years, the treated area will fade over time since all skin naturally exfoliates itself. At least 2-3 treatments should be performed for best results.

How much is the cost?

On average, the cost of having an SMP treatment can range from $250 to $650 PER TREATMENT depending on the level of baldness or thinning hair.  It is always best to set up a consultation to determine the exact pricing. It is also important to consider that you'll need at least 2 treatments.
